These are for the 8 zone home audio system.
One of the reasons for the for going the Chromecast Audio route is the excellent room grouping functions. The DAC isn’t half bad either. Most of my home automation goes via OpenHAB which has excellent Chromecast support.
And if you just want to push raw audio to the device, it supports 24 bit / 96 kHz FLAC.
I’m running it via a 16 channel amp (Apart Revamp1680) to in-wall mounted speakers in each room.
