I found four 200GB disks left over from my last raid array. I am happy to report that they have been destroyed before being put in the rubbish bin. Chances of someone reconstructing all 4 disks into a working array were slim. With some hammer action, the chances are slimmer. “When you have a hammer in the hand everything seems like a nail”.

I enjoy the excitement of moving. Odd, but I really do find it exciting to start new. One thing I don’t enjoy is the twisted back after moving. My B&W 804s are the prime culprit for a twisted back. They are packed now. Kitchen is now packed too.

It’s a tempting prospect: A day of Oktoberfest drinking, coming back and collapsing into one of these. Tempting indeed. And would fit nicely in the corner of my new terrace. But at €3490 + heating costs + crane to hoist it up to the fourth floor, I may wait until an the announcement that an unknown relative has popped their clogs and I’m the only benefactor of their successful empire.

I’m moving soon. Closer to my favourite pool, Ungererbad.I arrived with just an hour to closing time (why they shut at 8pm in the Summer, I have no idea). Then realised I’d forgotten to draw cash. Was about to leave when the clerk waived me in. Fantastic.
I thought about this for the rest of the day. It’s really incredible what that custom service and bending of the rules did for me.
Was happy.
